Author Guidelines
The editor of Jurnal Teknosains welcomes article submissions with the following writing guidelines:
- Article has not been published in any other Media and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.
- Types of article are suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications, and issues reports.
- Please note the following requirements for submitting article:
- mention two titles in Bahasa and in English
- decide who is the corresponding author with the asteric mark ( * )
- use your institution's email
- Article is written in Bahasa Indonesia or English (preferable) using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Article is typed 1,5 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 4000-7000 (15-20 pages) in length including references, pictures, and tables (or after layout in our standard format with minimum 10 pages and space 1.
- Title, abstract, and keywords should be written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Article should be in form of essay with the following structure:
- title (max 12 words): comprehensive, clear, precise and does not contain sub titles. Title is written in capital letter with the font size of 14, formatted in bold and 1 space.
- author’s name (without academic degree) with an e-mail address, institution’s name and its address,
- articles’ completion date should be written under author’s address to show it’s contemporary
- abstract is written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, formulated in one paragraph contained 150-250 words which represents aim, method and result of the paper.
- key words in English and Bahasa Indonesia (5-7 words),
- section and subsection: section and subsection title are written in bold with font size of 12. Section title is written in capital letter, while the subsection title is written using title case.
- introduction (may include subsections) contains background, objectives, literature reviews, theoretical framework (if needed), and materials and methods.
- result and discussion can be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, provide and discuss clearly on the problem and aim of the research
- figure, table and formula should include title, number, as well as detailed information and should be refered in the text (figure title and number are written under the figure/picture, while table title and number are written above the table). Result which is displayed in a figure or table should be a final result. Figure and table referencing by mentioning the number not the position such as “ below”, “above” etc. but it should be “in table 4”, “in figure 2” etc.
- conclusion
- acknowledgement and thanks note can be written precisely if needed
- references listed should be referred in the article.
- For the reference, we recommend the authors should use IEEE referencing style (download here) or al least we also accept Harvard referencing style (Check Here). Please also use Mendeley or Zotero in references.
- Article should be submitted via online submission on Jurnal Teknosains (http://jurnal.ugm.ac.id/ teknosains/about/submissions). Article is written using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx, but not in PDF).
- Notifications of the receipt of article and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) will be informed to the authors by e-mail. Article that are not published will not be returned to the authors.
- Author must be willing to revise his or her article after reviewers had reviewed the Article.
- A successful author is entitled to 1 (one) copy of the print issue in which the article appears.
- The article must refer to article template
- The article must use Zotero or Mendeley.

- Systematics of writing: (a) title, (b) the identity of the author, (c) the date of submission of the manuscript, (d) abstract, (e) keyword, (f) introduction (with no heading and section), (g) discussion, (h) conclusions, (i) bibliography / reference list.
- Jurnal Teknosains writing style should refer to the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 46 Year 2009 on General Guidelines for Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan.
- It should be noted that the Article for Journal Teknosains does not use footnotes in the text because it can distract the reader.
- Article must cite some articles in Jurnal Teknosains to your Article.
- Author must follow The International System of Units (SI) to the modern metric system of measurement for scientific formulas (See the details of SI here)

SUBMISSION PROCESS
Author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:
Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of journal, i.e. Original Research Articles, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, author must check-mark on the submission checklists.
Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click Upload button.
Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary file should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the files, and then click on Upload button.
Step 5 – Confirming the Submission: Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to TEKNOSAINS journal, click Finish Submission button after the documents is true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.
After this submission, Author who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Author is able to track his submission status at anytime by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes status of manuscript review and editorial process.

SUBMISSION POLICY
All manuscripts must be prepared according to Jurnal Teknosains' Authors guideline. Upon the submission of the manuscripts, author(s) will receive the confirmation of the submission along with some submission declaration forms that need to be filled and signed before Editors can process the manuscript.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). To prove the originality, you must provide the scanned Statement of Originality that have been added with materai and your signature. You can upload this file in the Submission Procedures (page 14) as Supplementary file.
- The submission file is in WORD (not PDF) document file format. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Double-Blind Review have been followed.
- For references, Jurnal Teknosains suggests to use citation tools (like Bibliography in Ms. Word, Endnote, but we recommend Mendeley). Where available, URLs for the references must be provided. For citations and references format, if you need for the application for your dekstop about reference management please go to Mendeley website.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. The minimum pages are 15-20 with 1.5 space.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal. The Article that does not follow the Author guidelines will be returned for editing and may miss being published in Jurnal Teknosains.
